Cabinet Reshuffle: Ken Ofori-Atta and others dismissed


The President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has implemented a significant reorganization of his cabinet, marking the first major restructuring since assuming office in January 2017. Thirteen ministers have been relieved of their positions, and changes have also been made to deputy ministers. Notably, the Minister for Finance, Ken Ofori Atta, has been replaced. Additionally, ministers responsible for the following portfolios — the Interior, Health, Environment, Science, Technology and Innovation, Roads and Highways, Gender, Children and Social Protection, Local Government, Decentralisation and Rural Development, Sanitation and Water Resources, Tourism, Arts, and Culture — have all been relieved of their duties.

In a statement, the President personally expressed sincere appreciation to each of the Ministers and Deputy Ministers who have now left the Government. He acknowledged their commitment, competence, dedication, and hard work in office, which contributed to the realization of the Government’s mandate to the Ghanaian people over the last seven (7) years. The President wished each of them well in their future endeavours.
