Nana Boakye Assault Prompts Demand for Police Action – Richard Ahiagbah

A student named Nana Boakye at the Christian Service University College (CSUC) in Kumasi was allegedly assaulted by individuals suspected to be affiliated with the National Democratic Congress (NDC) during a speech by former President John Mahama. Nana Boakye expressed his opinion by saying, “Mahama will lose” in response to remarks about Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

In response to this matter, the Director of Communications of the NPP, Mr. Richard Ahiagbah, has expressed disapproval of the police for their inaction in apprehending the perpetrators and called for immediate action from law enforcement authorities. “It is deeply troubling that the police have not taken action to arrest those responsible for this vicious assault on Nana Boakye. We demand justice for him and a thorough investigation into this matter,” he wrote on X.

The NPP Director of Communications further urged the government and relevant authorities to ensure the protection of free speech and hold those responsible for acts of violence accountable. This incident highlights the importance of protecting citizens’ right to express their opinions without fear of violence or intimidation.
