Will the Oak tree stay alive once more?

The air hangs heavy with tension at the Nana Fosu Gyeabour Park as Hearts of Oak, the Phobians, take the field against Bechem United in the final round of matches.

This is a battle for survival, a desperate fight to escape the clutches of relegation.

Hearts of Oak, once the kings of Ghanaian football, had fallen on hard times. A string of disappointing seasons had seen them slide down the league table, and now, are teetering on the brink.

Coach Aboubakar Ouattara’s men lie 15th on the table, just a point above the relegation zone, with one slot left to complete the list of clubs facing demotion.

Hearts have only managed three wins in their last ten matches, losing six and drawing once.

Also, In their last four games, the Phobians have secured just one win, making their tie against the Hunters more deadly than ever.

Bechem United have been impressive at home, losing only once in their last 14 matches.

The Never Say Die family will be hoping for a repeat of last season’s great escape, but the team will need to first of all put the hunters to sleep.
