Carabao Cup Final: Pochettino Aims for First English Prize, Reds Eye Quadruple Triumph

The stage is set for the finals of the Carabao Cup match between Chelsea and Liverpool at Wembley Stadium.

Chelsea’s last domestic silverware was the 2018 FA Cup, although they have since won four international honours.

Pochettino, who took charge at Stamford Bridge last summer, can win his first prize in England after previous spells at Southampton and Tottenham.

Liverpool, meanwhile, head into today’s final aiming to win the first of a potential four trophies this season.

The Reds lead the Premier League by four points and are into the Europa League last 16 and FA Cup fifth round.

The game is a rematch of both the Carabao and FA Cup finals of 2022, both of which Liverpool won on penalties. Chelsea are five-time winners, last lifting the

trophy by beating Tottenham 2-0 in 2015.

Pochettino has won just one of his 13 meetings with Klopp a 4-1 home win in October 2017 with Tottenham.

Chelsea and Liverpool have met in two previous EFL Cup finals (2005 and 2022) and two previous FA Cup finals (2012 and 2022).

Liverpool, on the other hand, won both the 2022 finals on penalties after the games finished 0-0 at the end of extra time.
