Aduana Stars to shock Samartex in Dormaa for top spot – Evans Oppong

The Ghana Premier League returns this weekend with Match week 18 scheduled to be played at the various match venues across the country. The top-flight league had to break for a month due to the Total Energies Africa Cup of Nationa in la Côte d’Ivoire.

Accra Hearts of Oak, Kpando Heart of Lions, and Karela United will honour their home matches at new venues in the second round of the GPL.
With the permutations of the table, league leaders Samartex will face Aduana Stars who are 2nd on the league log.

Adaari Abdul Latif will be the referee officiating the game and will be assisted by Peter Dawsa in Line 1 and Alhassan Abdul-Rauf in Line 2.

S.K Mawuli and Samuel Gyasi will also be the 4th Assistant referee and the match commissioner respectively.

Speaking to the P.R.O for Aduana Stars, Evans Oppong “the Ogya boys are poised and ready for the task ahead”.

Adding that, a victory in the game will move them to the top spot with 33 points ahead of Samartex who are currently on 32 points after 17 games played and nothing is going to stop them.

Both teams have met 3 times, with Samartex winning 2 and 1 ending in a draw game. The game is scheduled for Monday, February 26, 2024 at the Agyemang Badu I Park in Dormaa at 3 pm.
