Just when Ghanaians believed they had moved past the memories of COVID-19, the relentless pandemic has made a comeback.
The Ghana Health Service (GHS) reported 31 new COVID-19 cases in the country over the past week.
Dr. Kwame Amponsah-Achiano, Programmes Manager at the Expanded Programme on Immunization, interacting with the media, assured that these cases are not severe.
Dr. Amponsah-Achiano emphasized the need for continued vigilance against the virus during a media briefing in Accra.
To curb the spread, the Ghana Health Service announced the commencement of a vaccination drive starting on Sunday, May 5th.
Dr. Amponsah-Achiano highlighted the importance of ongoing vaccination efforts in the fight against COVID-19, stressing that the virus is here to stay and requires sustained preventive measures.
