Dr. John Ampontuah Kumah Laid to Rest


Dr. John Ampontuah Kumah, the late Member of Parliament for Ejisu and Deputy Finance Minister, was laid to rest today, May 18, 2024.

At his funeral, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), highlighted John Kumah’s significant influence on his presidential ambitions.

Dr. Bawumia praised John Kumah’s initiatives aimed at empowering the youth and his unwavering commitment to national development, calling him a brilliant and diligent lawyer.

He shared that Dr John Kumah’s sudden death in March was a personal loss, noting that John Kumah was one of the early supporters who publicly urged him to run for president and campaigned with him across the country.

Apostle Lilian Kumah, the widow of Dr. John Kumah, delivered a profound tribute, describing him as her “everything.”

She recounted how he supported her through her education and career, helping her become a religious leader.

She was deeply grateful for his investment in her life and promised to uphold his dreams.

Their children also commended their late father, calling him a “beacon of hope” and a “revolutionary thinker.”

They remembered him as a source of strength, wisdom, and love, whose presence filled their lives with warmth and guidance.

They also described their father as a man of unparalleled courage and conviction, a mentor, and an inspiration to all who knew him.
