The Ghana Under-17 team has taken the WAFU Zone B Championship by storm, showcasing their exceptional talent and determination on home soil.

Led by coach Laryea Kingston, the Black Starlets have won all two group stage matches, scoring 7 goals and conceding one. Their impressive performances have earned them a place in the semi-finals.

Ghana will face the 2nd-placed side in Group B in the semi-finals of the WAFU Championship.

In their opening match, Ghana cruised to a 5-1 victory over Côte d’Ivoire, with goals from Godfred Sarpong, Mark Kagawa, Harve Gbafa and a brace from Joseph Narbi.

The team then followed up with a dominant 2-0 win over Benin, with goals from Mark Kagawa and Theophilus Ayamga.

Ghana’s success in the WAFU Zone B Championship is a testament to the strength of the country’s youth development system. The Black Starlets have shown that they have the talent and determination to compete with the best teams in Africa.

As they prepare for their semi-final clash against Burkina Faso, the Ghanaian team is confident and determined to continue their winning ways.

A victory would send them to the final as they are chasing a dream of staging a return to the Under-17 AFCON after their last outing in Gabon in 2017.
