Black Stars Physical Trainer passes on

Romeo Ricky Roy, the Physical Trainer of Ghana’s Black Stars, has tragically passed away.

While details surrounding his untimely death remain sketchy, it is reported that he succumbed to illness on Sunday, April 28, in Accra.

Roy’s tenure with the Black Stars commenced in 2021 under the leadership of coach Milovan Rajevac.

He continued to play a pivotal role within the national team, contributing his expertise during significant events such as the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar and the recent Africa Cup of Nations in Côte d’Ivoire.

Before his involvement with the national team, Roy garnered acclaim for his coaching contributions, notably serving as a member of the coaching staff for Division One League side Vision FC in February 2020.

The passing of Romeo Ricky Roy is mourned not only within the football community but also by those who recognized his dedication and impact on the sport. His legacy as a committed and influential figure within Ghanaian football will live on.
