Low turnout in District Level Elections in Sekondi-Takoradi

And in the Sekondi-Takoradi metropolis in the Western region, voting is ongoing across all polling stations.

Turnout this morning at most centres is said to be not encouraging.

At some centres even though the exercise started on schedule, there are reports of malfunctioning of a number of verification machines.

This meant that officials had to resort to manual verification.

This initially didn’t go down well with the voters, but eventually they agreed to allow its use for the process to get underway.

This was the situation in a number of polling centres.

There were no queues at any of the centres.

Some polling stations were virtually empty except for the electoral officials and agents of the candidates.
