Minister of Information Encourages Media to Play Crucial Role in 2024 Elections

Information Minister Mr Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, has drawn attention to the critical role of the media in Ghana’s 2024 general election.

At the podium at the Ghana Journalists Association (GJA) 2nd Annual dinner night on December 21, 2023, the minister expressed confidence in the media’s ability, acknowledging their track record and and urged them to excel further in delivering to the public.
“You have done it on many occasions, and we have no doubt that you have the capacity to do an even better job,” he said.

The Minister further stated that, the media can provide timely and reliable information to the public during the electoral process, making the public aware of the provisional results as they await the EC.
“Multiple media houses can do the tabulations themselves and tell the public where it is going even before the EC announces.” He stated.

He concluded his address by entrusting the media with a significant responsibility stating: “We are counting on you in the year 2024 to do an equally diligent job in that election.”
