President’s Constitution day message to Ghanaians


It’s Constitutional Day in Ghana, and the President, Nana Akufo-Addo has shared a goodwill message to all Ghanaians stating its significance.

In his message which was broadcast on January 6, 2024, President Akufo-Addo urged Ghanaians to embrace the fundamental principles of democratic accountability, emphasizing the importance of respect for the rule of law, human rights, individual liberty and freedom.

To the president, these values are essential for national development and individual prosperity.

Envisioning a society where freedom coexists with a commitment to collective responsibility, President Akufo-Addo stressed that true freedom entails a balance between liberty and duty, as well as hard work and compassion.

As we celebrate Constitution Day, the  President emphasised that, “Ghana is considered a beacon of democracy and stability in Africa and the celebration of constitution day should inspire us Ghanaians even further to hold on to this enviable status .”

He further emphasized the importance of fair and transparent electoral processes towards the general election in December, calling on all stakeholders, including the Electoral Commission, political parties, leaders, and citizens, to contribute a collective effort to ensure the consolidation of Ghana’s democracy.

Expressing gratitude to the Ghanaian people and the Almighty God for seven years of service, President Akufo-Addo reaffirmed his commitment to the mandate entrusted to him.

“I thank the Almighty God and you the Ghanaian people for giving me the opportunity to serve these past 7 years. I have not taken it lightly, I remain committed to the mandate,” he said.
