Road Safety and Management Book Launched

The launch of a book to educate, inform, mitigate road carnage and serve as a policy guide for road safety in Ghana, has taken place in Accra.  The Director-General of the National Road Safety Authority, Mr. David Osafo-Adonteng says the book, titled “Right Turn”, will help intensify the road safety campaign in the country.

Road accidents occur for various reasons. Often, drivers are distracted while behind the wheel, taking their focus away from the road. Sometimes it’s a combination of reasons – from bad visibility to unsafe road designs, and drivers who disregard instructions or cautions.

“Right Turn “authored by the deputy director of Memphis Metropolitan Construction, Ms Paulina Agyekum seeks to educate drivers, transport operators, and pedestrians on the need to adhere to road regulations in order to avoid accidents. The book also provides insight into Ghana’s road safety management by way of a comprehensive information point for better understanding and appreciation of the national road safety regime.

The director-general of the National Road Safety Authority, NRSA, David Osafo-Adonteng, commended Ms. Paulina Agyekum for the insightful write-up.

The book address challenges, presents opportunities and urgently calls for road safety in Ghana.
