Who wears the crown: Black Queens or Copper Queens.

Black Queens head coach Nora Hauptle says fans are absolutely necessary for any game. She disclosed this ahead of the big game against Zambia. Ghana faces Zambia in the third round of qualifiers for the 2024 Olympic Games to be staged in Paris, France, later this year.

The Queens have won 10 of their last 11 games across all competitions including two ties in the pursuit of a first-ever Olympic appearance.

Speaking ahead of that crucial encounter, Nora said “The fans mean everything to us. This is a home game and we need all the support”.

Adding that “Zambia, of course, is a big opponent. They have been at the World Cup. They played 21 games last year and have good individual players so I think it’s a must-win and we want to win”.

The first leg of the qualifier takes place today at the Accra Sports Stadium, followed by the second leg in Lusaka five days later.

The winner of the tie will advance to the final qualifying round, where they will face either Morocco or Tunisia for a spot in the Olympic Games.

The Black Queens are determined to make history by becoming the first Ghanaian football team to qualify for the Olympic Games since 2004.
