Bawumia says “No” to LGBTQ in Ghana


Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has voiced out his opposition to the LGBTQ+ practice in Ghana.

At a gathering of Muslim worshippers at the Kumasi Central Mosque following Eid prayers, he emphasized the importance of upholding Ghanaian cultural, societal, and religious values, asserting that same-sex marriage goes against these principles.

Dr. Bawumia reiterated his stance aligned with his Muslim faith, highlighting that all major religions in Ghana prohibit LGBTQ+ practices.

Moreover, he affirmed his opposition to such practices, both personally and in his capacity as Vice President, stating unequivocally that he would continue to oppose them if elected president.
