CEO of NEIP allegedly arrested OSP for sharing money to delegates


The New Patriotic Party’s parliamentary aspirant for Asante Akim Central constituency, Kofi Ofosu Nkansah has been arrested by the Office of Special Prosecutor for allegedly sharing money to delegates.

Officials of OSP on Wednesday afternoon picked Kofi Ofosu Nkansah who is the Chief Executive Officer of the National Entrepreneurship and Innovation Programme (NEIP) for interrogation.

According to the Asante Akyem Constituency Secretary of the NPP, Felix Amakye, the allegation of sharing of money was brought to the attention of the Special Prosecutor by Mr Nkansah’s opponent for the Asante Akim Central parliamentary seat, Kwame Anyimadu Antwi who is the incumbent MP.

Meanwhile, Mr. Nkansah later posted on his verified Facebook account,” “I’m fine folks. We are winning AAC primaries on Jan 27. Afa.”

The phenomenon of vote buying has become increasingly prevalent in Ghana’s politics. The Political Parties Law 2000, (Act 574) and the Representation of the People’s Law, 1992, PNDC Law 284, outlaw buying or selling of votes.
