Euro 2024: Germany beats Denmark 2-0 to secure a place in the quarter finals

Germany have advanced to the quarter-finals of Euro 2024 after beating Denmark 2-0.

A gripping first half was soon interrupted with 10 minutes remaining, as a powerful lightning storm unleashed huge hailstones and left rainwater streaming off the roof of the stadium.

Joachim Anderson bundled home from close range, but his strike was ruled out after a VAR review for an incredibly marginal offside.

Few minutes later, Kai Harvet found the back of the net after converting from the spot kick 12 yards away to give the host nation the lead.

As the game progressed Jamal Musiala made it two, which was enough to send the Danish team parking.

Germany, on the other hand, are unbeaten in their last eight fixtures, and await the winner of Spain vs Georgia in the quarter-finals.
