FDA confiscates 'Chofi' in Eastern Region


The Food and Drugs Authority has confisicated turkey tails popularly known as 'chofi' in Suhum and Nsawam in the Eastern region. The organised in collaboration with the Ghana Police Service was part of the FDA's efforts to ensure a healthier populace ahead of the Christmas festivities. In an X post (formerly twitter), the FDA reminded Ghanaians in the buying and selling of the meat of the existing ban that spans from 1999. "As part of the FDA's activities to ensure a healthier Christmas, our Eastern Regional Office in collaboration with the Ghana Police Service, has organized a swoop at Suhum and Nsawam to confiscate turkey tail, popularly known as Chofi, being offered for sale.
