Ga Manye Funeral: GUTA welcomes new directive from the GA Traditional Council

The Ghana Union of Traders (GUTA) has expressed their gratitude to Ga Mantse and the President of the Ga Traditional Council, King Tackie Teiko Tsuru for the review of the closure of shops during the funeral rites of Ga Manye Naa Dedei Omaedru III.
According to the GUTA, the decision to reduce the closure period from three days to one day, Saturday, 28th October 2023, was a clear demonstration of the commitment of Ga chiefs to balancing cultural traditions with the economic needs of the community.
In a statement signed by the Deputy Secretary General of the GUTA, Richard Amamoo urged all traders within Accra and its environs to fully comply with the revised closure period.
It is essential that every business owner understands the value of this cultural tradition and actively supports it,” he said.
He further alleged that some traditional members were “intentionally misleading the public in markets, thus deviating from the new directives issued by the Traditional Chiefs.
