High Court adjourns Cecilia Dapaah’s application against OSP

After the high court instructed the OSP to return the $590,000 and the GH₵2.73million seized from the home of former Sanitation Minister, Madam Cecilia Dapaah, the OSP in disagreement with the court’s ruling, also requested the Human Right’s Court’s consent to keep holding the properties and money.
Former Minister for Sanitation and Water Resources, Ms Cecilia Dapaah wanted the freeze and seizure case to be expedited and filed an interlocutory injunction application on 9th October 2023 to that effect.
The former sanitation minister’s application at the high court is seeking to restrain the Office of the Special Prosecutor from continuing to freeze her accounts and the seizure of monies recovered from her residence at Abelemkpe. The case has been adjourned to Thursday 1st February 2024.

In July 2023 when it became public that the former minister’s house-helps were in court accused of stealing $1 million, 300,000 euros, some millions of cedis, and personal effects from the former minister’s home, Madam Cecilia Dapaah resigned. Following her arrest by the OSP, she was granted bail.
