Inauguration Of 75th GJA Anniversary Planning Committee


The Ghana Journalists Association has inaugurated an 11-member planning committee to fashion out a plan for its 75th anniversary. The events will be marked across the country. The committee is chaired by seasoned broadcaster, Mr. Godwin Avenorgbo.

His team members on the planning committee are Marian Kyei, Kobby Asmah, Peter Agbeko, Ellen Avorgbedor and Maxwell Kudekor. Also on the planning committee are Boahene Asamoah, Zambaga Rufai, Alice Tettey, Dr. Etse Sikanku and Mathias Tibu. The President of the Ghana Journalists Association, Mr. Albert Dwumfour was optimistic of a good 75th milestone worth celebrating. He called on the government to intensify its collaboration with the GJA to ensure the safety and security of journalists.

The Director General of the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation, Prof. Amin Alhassan commended Journalists for contributing their bit to national development and urged the planning committee to come up with activities to highlight issues in the media.

The Ghana Journalists Association called on all to support the anniversary celebrations, which will be officially launched in March 2024.
