Mahama picks Prof. Opoku-Agyemang as running mate for 2024 polls

The National Executive Committee of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) has officially endorsed Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang as the running mate for the party’s flagbearer, John Dramani Mahama, in December’s general election.

Last week, John Mahama submitted his selection for running mate, and the party has now solidly supported his choice for the impending election.

In a statement dated Thursday, March 7, and signed by the General Secretary, Fifi Kwetey, the party highlighted Prof. Opoku-Agyeman’s distinguished career as an academic and leader, emphasising her dedication to education and public service.

The nomination of Prof. Opoku-Agyeman, according to the party, reflects the NDC’s steadfast commitment to promoting inclusivity, diversity, and the empowerment of women in leadership positions.

The statement further extolled the virtues and expertise of Prof. Opoku-Agyeman, making her an ideal choice to the NDC’s presidential ticket.
