NDC Wants a Honeymoon If Voted into Power? Reject Mahama. Vote Dr Bawumia, Says NPP.

In a riposte on his X page to former president John Mahama’s remark about being given a honeymoon if voted into power, the New Patriotic Party’s National Communications Director, Mr Richard Ahiagbah says Ghanaians must reject Mr Mahama and vote for the NPP’s candidate Dr Mahamudu Bawumia.

Addressing students at a “Campus Connect” engagement in Hohoe in the Volta region, Mr Mahama said “This country is broke, and so we will beg you that when we come into office, give us a bit of a honeymoon, let’s put things in place so that we bring the economy back onto its feet.”

Justifying his response, Mr Ahiagbah said “One compelling reason is that the NPP has a proven program of action that flows from its worldview or ideology to develop Ghana. The NDC doesn’t.” Explaining further, the National Communications Director says the NPP’s policy view is built on the belief that the individual is the unit of growth or development, and investment in the individual empowers them to unleash their God-given potential; that is the basis for private enterprise. He says this is where the private sector as the engine of growth comes from. “That is why our policies prioritize individual / private enterprises. “

Mr Ahiagbah goes down a list and mentions the FSHS as a policy to build the capacity of Ghanaians, to make them competitive. The Communications Director draws attention to the 1D1F as an industrialization agenda to boost production and create employment.

He says the policy is the panacea for economic growth. “It is about value addition and export. At present, about 296 factories have been approved under the 1D1F initiative. “Mr Ahiagbah says the NPP is prioritizing digitalization as a means to facilitate commercial exchanges, drive efficiency, and increase access or reach, etc. Also, he says the Ghana Card is a means to create visibility and confidence to transact in the economy.

Again, the Communication Director says the NPP’s inherent or ideological insistence on the rule of law is a means to protect individual or private ownership of capital or property, attract investments to Ghana, and guarantee the confidence to transact.

The NPP is asking Ghanaians for time for all these policies to attain a certain level of implementation, “and then we can begin to see their impact.” “What I can tell you is that these ideas have proven effective everywhere else they have been implemented. In other words, the NPP has the right policy ideas, what is required is time to carry them out.

That is why you should vote for the NPP.” Mr Ahiagbah says Mr John Mahama has asked for 4 years to honeymoon at the Jubilee House, and that proves he has zero solutions to discuss. From the foregoing, he says, the electorate must reject Mahama and vote for Dr. Bawumia, to implement more ideas to grow the economy.
