Save Ghana Football Demonstration; Fans Frustrated in Petition Submission Efforts.

The much-awaited protest dubbed ‘Save Ghana Football’ demonstration, highlighting the need for reforms in the governance of Ghana Football, has finally come to an end.
The gathering was from all walks of life and led by sports journalists. They set off from Obra Spot at the Kwame Nkrumah Interchange through to Accra Central where the peaceful protest was cut short by the police.
Patrick Osei Agyemang popularly known as “Countryman Songo” who happens to be one of the convenors said “In our meeting with the authorities, they promised to send reps to receive the petition on their behalf when we get to the independence square”.
Fans were agitated because they were denied access to the agreed locations scheduled by the leaders to submit their petition – thus the MoYS, Parliament and the GFA.
The team’s early exit from the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations marks the third consecutive major tournament where Ghana’s senior national soccer team, the Black Stars, couldn’t advance beyond the group stage.
The Kurt Okraku-led administration, is currently in search of its fifth Black Stars coach in the last five years.
