Aston Villa eyes Champions League Redemption Against Liverpool Amid Europa Heartbreak

Aston Villa will host Liverpool tonight at the Villa Park in match day 37 of the English Premier League. After their dreams of European glory were dashed in a thrilling 6-2 aggregate defeat to Olympiakos in the Europa Conference League semi-final during midweek, Aston Villa will be hoping to replace agony with joy by securing themselves a slot in the Champions League next season.

Unai Emery’s side would have wrapped up a top-four finish if not losing 1-0 to Brighton in their last meeting.

The Reds have been utterly dominant as the Premier League season draws to a close in recent years, going unbeaten in the month of May for six years now, a run that spans 18 games (W15, D3).

The Merseyside club have nothing to play for now, however they are still keen on keeping that impressive run.

The Spanish coach, has several players unavailable through injury for the game, including Alex Moreno and Youri Tielemans, among others.

Jurgen Klopp on the other hand, will be able to count on almost all his players except for four thus Thiago Alcantara, Joel Matip, Ben Doak and Diogo Jota.
