E.T. Mensah to be Buried Today


Former Member of Parliament for Ningo Prampram, Enoch Teye Mensah popularly known as E.T. Mensah will be buried today, 5th January 2024.

His body was laid in state on Thursday, January 4, 2024, at his residence in Prampram, in Greater Accra. A burial service was also organised for him at the forecourt of the state house in Accra.
His funeral thanksgiving service takes place on 7th January, 2024 at the Methodist Church in Prampram.

E.T. Mensah was born on 16th May, 1946 and died on 1st October 2023 at age 77. He died in South Africa where he has gone for medical attention.

E.T. Mensah, a National Democratic Congress (NDC) member, held diverse roles, including Minister for Education, Minister for Youth and Sports, Accra Metropolitan Assembly Chief Executive and Council of State representative for the Greater Accra Region.

Elected to Parliament during the second parliament of the Fourth Republic of Ghana in 1996, he served as the Ningo Prampram MP until 2016, when he lost in the NDC’s Parliamentary primary to Samuel Nartey George.

One of his landmark achievements was his compilation of “Lest We Forget”, a pamphlet detailing the achievements of the PNDC; which was pivotal in NDC’s subsequent organisational programmes and victories. He also published a book: “PNDC / NDC: Setting The Records Straight Volume 1”, with the foreword by former President, Flt. Lt. Jerry John Rawlings.

He was commissioned Evangelist and a Conference Member of the Methodist Church, Ghana.

He left behind a wife and seven children.
