Ghana to host CAR in round 4 of World Cup Qualifiers today

Under the floodlights of the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi, the Black Stars of Ghana will face off against the Central African Republic in the fourth round of matches of the World Cup qualifiers.

Coming from their 2-1 success in Bamako on Thursday, the Black Stars will be hoping to ease past their opponent in their own back yard.

Ghana heads into the game ranked third in Group I with six points with leaders Madagascar and second place Comoros having the same points but with a superior goal difference than the Black Stars.

A victory for Ghana will see them above their contenders to occupy the top spot on the table.

Speaking to the media on Sunday, head coach of the Black Stars Otto Addo believes “it’s going to be a very difficult game. For everyone who thinks it’s going to be easy, we hope it goes like that, but it’s really a difficult game. We can’t relax now.”

Ghana previously secured a 2-1 victory over the Wild Beasts to qualify for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, and they aim to repeat that result tonight.

The Ghanaian gaffer is therefore calling on the fan base to come support the team to victory as they hope to secure a place at the World biggest stage.
The game is scheduled to kick-off at 7pm.
