Ghana Water Company boosts revenue collection via e-billing system


The Ghana Water Company Limited’s introduction of the electronic billing system has led to an acute increase in the company’s returns. The new billing system has substantially increased payments by about GH₵123.3 million in 2022 alone. The Managing Director of the GWCL, Dr. Clifford A Braimah, disclosed this at the second edition of the GWCL's “Accounting to our Customers” press briefing and exhibition in Accra. Dr. Braimah also revealed that GWCL as part of improving service delivery to Ghanaians has expanded water distribution infrastructure by approximately 282 kilometers connecting over 10,200 households in urban areas across the country. He explained that over 1,500km of limited main extension works have also been executed nationwide to improve water distribution with 26km of distribution network improvement works have been implemented to enhance hydraulic performance.
