NDC Unveils Professor Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang as Running Mate for 2024 Election


The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has officially introduced Professor Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang as the party’s running mate for the December 2024 general election.

In her inaugural address, Professor Opoku-Agyemang emphasized the critical importance of the 2024 election in healing and revitalizing Ghana.

She underscored that beyond the quest for power, the election represents an opportunity for national renewal and rebuilding.

She outlined a vision for a Ghana where citizens have confidence, prosperity is shared, and democracy thrives.

Professor Opoku-Agyemang pledged to address issues faced by women, including extended maternity leave and access to capital for women entrepreneurs.

She also proposed the establishment of a Women’s Development Bank to support women-owned businesses.

In his endorsement speech, NDC flag bearer John Dramani Mahama praised Professor Opoku-Agyemang’s integrity and leadership qualities, expressing confidence in her ability to create a more inclusive and prosperous society.

The General Secretary of the NDC, Fifi Fiavi Kwetey, highlighted Professor Opoku-Agyemang’s potential to restore integrity and credibility to the office of the vice president, which he described as degraded in recent years.
