The Bees stunned in West London

It was a turnaround for defending champions of the English Premier league Manchester City, as they moved from a goal down to beat Brentford by 3-1 in west London on Monday.

Neal Maupay broke the deadlock in the 21st minute after a defensive error by the visitors. With three minutes of additional time to play in the first half, the visitors equalized through a brilliant effort by Phil Foden just on the stroke of half time.

Two second half goals from the 23-year-old player, meaning he bagged treble, earned him the man of the match, thanks to the hat-trick.

The victory sees City leapfrog in-form Arsenal to go two points behind Liverpool, with a game in hand and a record of 12 consecutive Monday night premier league matches unbeaten.

Meanwhile, Brentford are hovering dangerously above the relegation zone with seven defeats in their last eight matches. City will welcome Everton to the Etihad Stadium on Saturday in the early kickoff.
