Election 2024: “It is Possible” train in Kumasi on a 3 day tour.

Flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia as part of his campaign to win the presidency, has made a stop in the Ashanti region. He first paid a courtesy call on the Ashanti Regional House of Chiefs.

This move is to whip up the support of these traditional rulers in the region in his bid to become president.

Addressing the Ashanti Regional House of Chiefs, Dr. Bawumia indicated his plans for the country in different areas such as agriculture, digitalisation, the economy amongst others.

On his vision, Dr. Bawumia believes agriculture is the back bone of the country and hence the need to strengthen the sector to tackle all challenges in that area.

Further, the flagbearer is confident that when given the nod in December, his government will empower the private sector in Ghana.

This he said can be done by giving them some waivers and incentives to take over projects that will cost the country millions of cedis yet will not be completed on time. He says once the private sector is given the chance to initiate certain projects, it will release the burden or workload on the government.

Candidate Bawumia says “I will reduce government’s expenditure to support the private sector to assist the government in shaping an enabling environment for all”.

Again, on digitalisation, Dr. Bawumia emphasized the need to have an all inclusive digital system which led to the introduction of the GPS system as well as digitalising of the Ports, DVLA, Passport and a host of others.

Meanwhile, amidst concerns on his choice of running mate, the flagbearer is calm and poised for action come December 7, 2024 and is therefore appealing to the people of Kumasi to give him the “steering wheel”.
