Headmaster calls for the Completion of Dining Hall Project at Anlo SHS

The headmaster of Anlo Senior High School, Wisdom Adeti, has reached out to the government to complete the school’s dining hall facility and kitchen.

Anlo Senior High School recently faced challenges after a heavy downpour damaged several facilities, including the kitchen where student meals are prepared.
In response to the damage, the school sought permission from the Volta Regional Coordinator to use part of the uncompleted dining hall expansion as a temporary kitchen. This request was approved in a letter dated May 20, 2024.

However, during an interview with RGGNEWS, the headmaster revealed that the transition has not yet occurred. “We haven’t moved yet because past students are building a shed near the dining hall to be used as a kitchen, and the project is still incomplete. Once it’s finished, we will relocate and use the rooms we have been allowed to occupy,” he explained.

According to the headmaster, cooking currently continues in the old facility, which is a serious and challenging situation, especially when it rains.

The dining hall project began in 2012 but has been delayed due to insufficient funding. “We were told the contractor would return to the site, but that hasn’t happened yet,” he added.

The Headmaster appealed to the Volta Regional Director of Education, the Ghana Education Service, and the Minister for Education to prioritize the completion of the dining hall project. “Upon its completion, we will have all the necessary facilities, providing our kitchen staff with a comfortable environment to prepare meals for our students,” he concluded.
