Mahama leads NDC delegation to commiserate with Kufour

Former President John Dramani Mahama led a delegation from the National Democratic Congress (NDC) on Wednesday to visit former President JA Kufuor and his family. The purpose of the visit was to convey their condolences following the passing of former First Lady Theresa Kufuor.

Accompanying Mr. Mahama on this somber occasion was his wife, former First Lady Lordina Mahama.

They reflected on the profound impact of the late First Lady, affectionately known as the "mother of the Nation" during her time in office, owing to her dignified and graceful personality.

The delegation included prominent figures within the NDC, such as the national chairman, Johnson Asiedu Nketia, the Chair of the NDC Council of Elders, Alhaji Mahama Iddrisu, members of the NDC Council of Elders, and representatives from the party's Political Committee.

During the visit, Mr. Mahama left a heartfelt message in the Book of Condolence, expressing their collective sorrow over the loss of the esteemed former First Lady.

"We are all saddened by the passing of our respected mother, former First Lady Madam Theresa Kufuor. She carried herself with dignity and was truly acknowledged by the people of Ghana as the mother of the Nation. On this sad occasion, our hearts go out to the widower, President Agyekum Kufuor, and the entire family. May God grant her peaceful repose," the message read.
